As Co-founder and CEO, Rocky has over 30 years in the electric utility industry and has experience in virtually every aspect of operations with generation, transmission, distribution, and customer service operations. Under Rocky's leadership, SOS Intl has become one of the nations' leading providers of compliance and training solutions for the energy industry. The company has moved beyond its roots as a training provider by expanding its offerings to include compliance.
He is a registered professional engineer and a NERC Certified System Operator. Rocky has actively participated in development and implementation of operating policies at NERC, Southeastern Electric Reliability Council (SERC), regional transmission organization (GridSouth), and control area levels throughout the U.S.
Rocky was the Director of System Operations for GridSouth, a regional transmission organization formed by CP&L, Duke Energy and SCE&G. Prior to that assignment, he spent 22 years at South Carolina Electric and Gas where he rose to be the Manager of System Control.
Rocky is a graduate of Clemson University with an Engineering Degree.
Melanie joined SOS Intl in 2004, where she is the Director of Sales building and leading a team of sales professionals. Melanie's team is focused on sales growth through the delivery of innovative and customer-oriented services.
Melanie began her career with MCI, working in the telecommunications sales department. She has over ten years experience in the computer training field, in which she provided Instructor-Led and Distance Learning training solutions for corporate clientele such as Bank of America, Wachovia, Duke Power and Lockheed Martin. In addition, she has assisted training departments in the creation and implementation of custom training projects designed to target the needs of the users. She earned a BA from Columbia College and an MBA from the University of South Carolina.
Pam Ey, Ph.D. is Director of Product Strategy & Business Development and regularly participates on the compliance team, providing expertise in business practices, and training-related issues.
She holds a PhD in Business Administration and her content specialty areas include individual job competencies, person-job fit, intelligences, personality, and learning. Her recent projects and consulting engagements include development of train-the-trainer programs, development and delivery of job task analysis workshops, training program gap analysis, and training program planning and design.
She has presented at the EPRI user group, several regional train-the-trainer workshops, and the NSHMBA conference and career expo. Dr. Ey continues her research on issues of person-organization fit through the Center for Applied Cognitive Studies, previously presenting at their international conference. Her recent research work in Naturalistic Decision Making as it applies to system operations was accepted for presentation at the international conference NDM9 in London, and will be subsequently published. She teaches MBA level courses in a broad range of content including Organizational Behavior, Accounting, Management and Strategy.
Dr. Ey holds an MBA and undergraduate degree in Accounting and has prior experience in consulting, public utility and non-profit accounting. She is a member of the Carolina’s Organizational Development Network, American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), the Academy of Management (AOM), and the American Psychological Association (APA). She is co-author of the Owner’s Manual for the Brain, 4th edition, along with Dr. Pierce Howard.
Jennifer Connors is the Director of Operations at SOS Intl. She is responsible for the development and delivery of SOS Intl NERC compliance and training consulting products and services.
Jennifer joins the SOS Intl team from Alcoa Power Generating, Inc. (APGI) where she most recently served as System Operations and Engineering Manager. Prior to her role as Systems Operations and Engineering Manager, she served as Compliance Engineer and Compliance & Reliability Manager. During her successful tenure at Alcoa Power, she was responsible for providing a strategic focus on system operations and planning for the APGI Yadkin and Tapoco Hydro Projects power systems to ensure compliant, safe, reliable and economic operation of APGI Hydro assets. She also had accountability for ensuring the operation, planning and maintenance of both Hydro generation and transmission power systems adhered to regional, NERC and FERC compliance standards.
Jennifer comes to SOS Intl with over 30 years of experience with substation engineering, relay and control engineering, system protection and control, and transmission system operations. Prior to working at Alcoa, she held management positions at New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG), a subsidiary of Iberdrola USA, and Houston Lighting and Power (HL&P), now known as Reliant Energy.
Jim joined SOS Intl in 2009 where he manages the human resources, facilities, marketing, and information technology functions. Jim’s team provides support services which allow the sales and operations departments to identify our client’s needs and deliver the products and services to meet those needs.
Jim has over 25 years of management experience in the health care, insurance, legal, and energy industries. He has been instrumental in enhancing business processes and procedures utilizing various organizational development and performance improvement strategies. He holds a BA degree in Business Administration from UNC Charlotte as well as a MS degree in Organizational Management & Leadership from Pfeiffer University. He is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
Michele has been the Controller of SOS Intl and PReP Intl since August 2009, and is a Certified Public Accountant with over 25 years of business experience, including Big 4 Public Accounting, corporate accounting and consulting experience. She has accounting expertise in financial analysis, Sarbanes-Oxley, SEC reporting, benefit plans, management, forecasting, and budgeting. Industry experience includes manufacturing, retail, public utilities, non-profit, construction and energy.
Michele was a senior consultant with the Monaghan Group, an accounting & finance consulting firm based in Charlotte, NC and serving clients on the east coast. Her public accounting experience includes positions as an Audit Manager with Cherry Bekaert & Holland and an Audit Senior with Deliotte & Touche, LLP. She holds a BS degree in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is a member for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
