NERC Continuing Education
Minimize

Many professions require continuing education and training to stay certified or licensed. The utility industry is no different.  NERC requires System Operators to meet a minumum requirement every three years.  Each state also requires Professional Engineers to acquire a specific number of continuing education hours for a license renewal.  At SOS Intl our online program offers one of the most comprehensive training opportunities which focuses on the latest adult learning concepts.

SOS Intl is proud of being a NERC recognized continuing education provider who adheres to NERC continuing education program criteria.  We provide a concentrated library of online NERC continuing education, instructor-led classes, and custom developed training for continuing education hours on specific topics as well as count for Professional Engineering hours.  In addition, all of our instructors have relevant experience to share, and our Instructional Designers use the most current design technology and techniques.

Depending on your certification, System Operators must have a minimum number of hours every three years such as:

  • 200 CE hours for Reliability Operator
  • 160 CE hours for Balancing, Interchange, and Transmission Operator
  • 140 CE hours for Balancing and Interchange Operator
  • 140 CE hours for Transmission Operator

Our continuing education hours count for Professional Engineers, but total hours and content vary by state.
