PowerStarters is specifically designed for individuals with little to no prior experience in the electric utility industry. The coursework can also serve as a refresher for individuals who are very familiar with operations and are interested in learning more about the foundational aspects of the equipment and principles of the grid.
PowerStarters is:

• Aimed at orienting individuals with the
power grid, its components and operations
• Effective at teaching the terminology and
concepts of the power industry
• Consistent with the NERC PER-002
requirement for initial operator training

The bundle is comprised of several components:

• 3 courses of principles and operations
of power plants, transmission, and electric
power principles
• 1 course of math necessary for routine
calculations
• 2 courses on the fundamentals of system
protection and voltage control
